Our local Pet Valu is accepting donations with all the proceeds going towards the Red Cross, Prince George Humane Society, and Four Paws Rescue to assist the families and pets that have been affected and evacuated from their homes during the BC wildfires. Stop into Pet Valu if you'd like to donate!

SPEC is doing their School Supply Drive once again this year! Any supplies you're willing to donate can be dropped off at SPEC or various banks and businesses throughout town!

The Brooks RCMP are hosting a Community BBQ on Wednesday, July 26th from 10:00-2:00. Enjoy hot dogs, pop, and chips, along with a tour of the detachment, canine unit, along with other booths!

Bronc Busting on the Prairies is coming to Pollockville Saturday, July 29th at 6:00 pm! It'll feature 30 of the best bronc riders in the world, including world champions to mainstays at the Canadian Finals Rodeo and National Finals Rodeo. With $25,000 included in the committee purse along with entry fees, the winner will walk away with at least $10,000 in his pocket.

The Brooks Ladies Dart League is getting set for another great season! Their general meeting and registration will be held Wednesday, August 23rd @ 7:00pm at the Brooks Legion! Bring your friends and join as a team or fly solo and they'll find a spot for you! All skill levels are welcome for some laughs, networking, and fun! For more info, call Holly at (403) 362-3555.

A prostate cancer support group has started in Brooks, meeting the third Saturday of every month at 10:00am in the lower level of St. Alban's Anglican Church!

 Doug and Brandon Oberhamer, who grew up in the Brooks area and graduated from Brooks Composite, have a CD out called, "Together Again." Most of the album is their own composition, which has a smooth jazz sound. It's available at Freson Brothers and the downtown Home Hardware!
